Reason for Being

Melody Marketing’s inception was sparked by a painful industry truth: We’re making our clients’ brains hurt. Lengthy decks built to impress that ultimately collect dust. Spreadsheets that lead to over caffeination, glazed-over eyes and bobbing heads. And what’s worse? No one knows what to do next.

That single truth inspired three simple working principles:

Surface what matters, distill the story around it, and create a clear path forward

If the work doesn’t make people think or feel different, it’s not done yet

Clients should leave every interaction feeling a little lighter

And over the course of building a team of like-minded partners, serendipity struck. When you do more of what you love with less “noise,” the heart in your work shows.

And best of all? Clients feel it, too.

With a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, Jessica spent 20 years of her career agency side. Today she leverages multidisciplinary marketing experience across a range of categories, inspiration from the UX testing world and an entrepreneurial mindset to help clients build brands, campaigns, products, and solutions that are at the forefront of their industries. While industry agnostic, local and purpose driven organizations are a strategic priority for the Melody Marketing business. Prior employers include Marcus Thomas LLC, Precision Dialogue (now RR Donnelley), and Brokaw Inc. where she most recently served as the Director of Strategic Planning. Jessica has had the privilege of being a guest speaker at Kent State University, Ursaline College, the Ohio Travel Association Conference, and the Ohio Association of Goodwill Industries Conference.
